Description:
The objective of the survey was to collect information on the situation, national policies, and analyse conditions for the Blue Economy and to propose strategy and priority projects for the promotion of Blue Economy.

Scope of Work:
Managed the team, proposed the regional development strategy and proposed priority projects including fisheries, port, maritime affairs, tourism and environment.

    Description:
    The project's goal was to offer technical assistance to the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in executing its Compensation Policy and Resettlement Action Plan/Acquisition and Resettlement Action Plan (RAP/ARAP) in accordance with the JICA Guidelines for Environmental and Social Considerations (2010). The assistance focused on relocating affected individuals and households in Mombasa and Kwale counties for the grant project. Additionally, it involved resettling affected households for the land required for the JICA-financed Roads and Electricity subprojects.

    Scope of Work:
    TTechnical assistance and guidance to the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) in implementing KPA’s RAP/ARAP, and detailed planning for resettlement sites at four locations within the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone (DK SEZ), catering to all eligible stakeholders, both residents and non-residents.

    Description:
    The Government of Kenya obtained a loan from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to finance the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone (SEZ) Development Project. Phase 1 targets critical infrastructure improvement for the Dongo Kundu SEZ, including port, power supply, water supply, drainage, and roads, as specified in the Dongo Kundu SEZ, including port, power supply, water supply, drainage, and roads, as specified in the Dongo Kundu SEZ Master Plan. The project encompasses three Sub-projects: Port, Road, and Electricity.

    Scope of Work:
    Furnishing an expert to the Port Sub-project for Tender Assistance and Construction Supervision of Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone.

    Description:
    Mombasa holds a pivotal position in Kenya and East Africa due to its international port, which serves as a crucial link connecting Nairobi, Uganda, and Rwanda through the Northern Corridor. Kenya's focus on priority projects such as the "Development of Dongo Kundu Free Port" and "Development of the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone (SEZ)" is aimed at elevating the country to a middle-income status by 2030. The objective of the study was to verify and prepare essential elements necessary for the yen loan project appraisal. The project's scope encompassed conducting a feasibility study for three key infrastructure components: port facility, power supply facility, and water supply facility, all geared towards facilitating the early implementation of the Dongo Kundu SEZ.

    Scope of Work: Assessing the project's objective, features, feasibility (including alternative studies), project cost, implementation schedule, implementation method, organizational structure for project implementation, organizational structure for operation and maintenance, and environmental and social considerations.

    Description:
    The aim of the project was to enhance the investment environment within the Dongo Kundu SEZ, located in the Dongo Kundu area on the south bank of the Port of Mombasa. The goal was to contribute to the overall improvement of social and economic conditions in the region, thereby boosting Kenya's economy. The consulting services' objective was to create detailed designs and draft bidding documents, aligning with agreements reached in April 2019 between JICA and implementing agencies, (Kenya Ports Authority and Kenya National Highway Authority).

    Scope of Work:
    Data collection, financial and natural condition reviews, detailed design implementation encompassing channel sedimentation surveys, port facilities (jetty, trestle, revetment, yard, etc.), road facilities (access road, ramp, etc.), and ICT systems. Additional tasks included construction planning, cost estimation, tender document preparation, ensuring safety measures for local security, and addressing social and environmental considerations

    Description:

Our services pertained to the Port Sub-project and aimed to ensure the efficient and proper preparation and implementation of the Project.

    Scope of Work:
    Tender assistance for document review and finalization, construction supervision covering adequacy assessment, method of work approvals, drawing reviews, tests supervision, construction inspection, design modification, and Taking-Over Certificate issuance, assistance in monitoring Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) and facilitation of technology transfer through seminars, workshops, and on-the-job training (OJT).
