Description:
The primary activities of the project encompassed three main components: Component 1 involved the integration and mainstreaming of Disaster Risk Management (DRM). Component 2 focused on enhancing emergency response capacity through evaluations of existing capabilities. Component 3 centred on strengthening the legal framework for DRM, emphasizing the need for a robust legal foundation, and actively contributing to its enhancement.

Scope of Work:
Provision of specialized support to the Kenyan government, aiming to fortify the organizational, planning, and policy structures for the proficient handling of climate and disaster risks.

    Period: 2021-2022

    Description:
    The overall goal of the project was to enhance resilience of pastoralists communities against drought in Turkana County and other ASAL regions.

    Scope of Work:
    Development of sustainable natural resources management for improvement of resilience against drought, review of existing sample Community Action Plans (CAPs) for their validity, capacity building of government officers on drought management in Turkana County, and knowledge management, monitoring, and follow-up including setting up GIS database.
