Visit to Nippon Koei Headquarters

25th to 26th August 2025 | JAPAN.

KAF representatives, Mr Griffins and Mr Samwel, travelled to Nippon Koei’s headquarters in Tokyo for a series of familiarisation meetings with various departments. A key highlight of the programme was their presentation to the Urban Development Department (KD), during which they shared valuable insights drawn from African projects and explored opportunities for strengthening collaboration. The visit to the NK offices also provided an important opportunity to meet members of Nippon Koei’s senior management in person, further cementing professional ties.

The programme included a tour of Nippon Koei’s Research and Development Centre, where Mr Samwel and Mr Griffins were introduced to a range of pioneering technologies currently under development. These included artificial intelligence applications, advanced traffic count technology, and other innovations with the potential to significantly influence Africa’s urban development and enhance infrastructure resilience.

The engagements at Nippon Koei’s offices not only reinforced the strategic partnership between Koei Africa and Nippon Koei, but also created new avenues for knowledge exchange, capacity building, and technology transfer.

Koei Africa’s active participation underscored its steadfast commitment to working in close collaboration with global partners to deliver impactful, sustainable, and future-oriented solutions that support Africa’s long-term growth and development journey.
