Koei Africa is pleased to announce the signing of a new contract with TradeMark Africa (TMA) on July 31, 2025, running through to January 2026. The contract marks the commencement of a critical Repeat Trade and Transport Performance Study covering the Northern and Central Corridors—key trade routes connecting Mombasa and Dar es Salaam ports to inland markets in Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi, the DRC, South Sudan, and western Tanzania. This collaboration supports TMA’s broader objective of enhancing trade competitiveness across Africa by addressing persistent transport and trade barriers, improving corridor efficiency, and contributing to climate resilience.
Building on the foundation of a 2021 baseline study, the updated research aims to assess progress to date and provide evidence-based insights to inform TMA’s Strategy 3 programming. The study includes comprehensive data collection and analysis on traffic volumes, origin-destination (OD) patterns, freight costs, travel times, and trade flows. It will also incorporate climate-related data to estimate greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions along the corridors, using the Global Logistics Emissions Council (GLEC) Framework to support national and regional climate reporting initiatives.
This important project highlights Koei Africa’s ongoing commitment to delivering reliable, actionable data that supports efficient infrastructure planning, promotes sustainable economic development across the region, and strengthens relationships with TMA.
