ALMEC Corporation and Koei Africa Support to NTSA ToT for Drivers and Operators in Naivasha

216th - 18th September 2026| NAIVASHA, KENYA

Koei Africa and ALMEC Corporation participates in a successful Training of Trainers (ToT) session for NTSA Management and Staff which was spearheaded by World Governance Centre from 14th to 18th September 2026 at Sawela Lodge in Naivasha town. The ToT was the first step from NTSA to equip their staff with knowledge of future PSV reforms and enrich them with skills of training and capacity building of drivers and operators within the country for a period of more than a month.

We were involved in developing and validating the training curriculum and manual that were to be used in the wider roll out of Cohort 1. Our approach was more of providing practical, hands-on guide to drivers on matters regarding safe driving, adherence to traffic laws and improved passenger handling by the conductors.

From the onset of 21st September 2026, NTSA has deployed their staff to train more than 4,000 Drivers and Operators across the country with the aim of improving safety and compliance within the public transport of the country. Through the initiative it is expected to be a stepping stone towards orderly, safe, reliable and data driven ‘Matatu’ operations that is the backbone of Kenya’s public transportation.
