Koei Africa Consortium Signs Contract with Côte d’Ivoire Energies and Commences Taabo–Kossou–Bouaké Electricity Link Project

Nippon Koei Co., Ltd., in consortium with Koei Africa Co., Ltd. and Colenco Consulting Ltd., signed a contract with Côte d’Ivoire Energies in December 2025 for the Supervision, Control and Monitoring of Works to Reinforce the Taabo–Kossou–Bouaké Electricity Link. The project is financed through a Japanese Official Development Assistance (ODA) loan, reflecting Japan’s continued support for energy infrastructure development and sustainable growth in Côte d’Ivoire. The project has officially commenced and marks an important step in strengthening Côte d’Ivoire’s national power transmission network. The assignment began in January 2026 and is expected to continue until May 2031, which is the anticipated completion date.

The project will be implemented in two phases. Phase 1 covers the preparatory stage and includes the development of the basic design as well as the preparation of the tender documents. Phase 2 focuses on implementation support and will involve assistance to the Project Owner throughout the tendering process, from bid analysis to contract award, supervision of construction works on behalf of the Project Owner, support in monitoring the implementation of required monitoring documents, and the transfer of technology to enhance local capacity.
